About Us
Hi, I'm Raymond, owner of Artful Builder. We are a fully-insured and licensed company that's big enough to do one job at a time. We do a lot of custom projects and all of them were built according to a great plan! We are fortunate to have acquired "Chief Architect Premier" a top-notch home design program. So, we can create an awesome set of home plans for you without hitting your pocket book like an architectural firm would. I am confident I can draw up some plans you'll love! And absolutely certain I can build just as the plans specify! I hope you will reach out to see what we can do for you. We appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you! And FYI, cost of building a new home is $100-155 a square foot, not including land. In addition, there's usually unforeseen costs, and also "Hey, while you're here!" costs. How it Works
We will have an initial meeting to get a shared vision of your construction needs and budget. We will evaluate the site and take notes to bring back to the drawing table and return with a set of cad drawings for your approval. We will refine the plans up to two more times based on your feedback (without a fee), enabling you to see what it is going to look like before construction starts. Additional renderings may be requested and will be billed as an Additional Service.
Once entered into contract, we will delve deeper into the design process, creating a full set of plans while utilizing affordable home-building principles to save you money at every turn:
The shape of the house matters! Notice how a 625 sq. ft. rectangle 12.5 ft. x 50 ft. has the same floor space as a 25 ft. x 25 ft. square-shaped house--but the rectangle has 25 more linear ft. of wall! That's a lot of extra building material to pay for.
And why not adjust the roof pitch to fit the 4x8' sheets of roof sheathing evenly? Or why not design room widths to match standard material sizes exactly? Carpet comes in 12 ft. rolls, vinyl in 6- and 12 ft. rolls ... drywall 4 ft. These are just a couple of the "Optimum-Value Engineering" feats we do for you.
We will go over all interior/exterior finishes with you and build according to local codes; we will acquire all permits, meet with engineers, surveyors, loan officers, and tradesmen as needed.
